About this Talk

Description

Have you ever wondered how to be more creative with data and get away from pre-made charts? Wouldn't it be nice if you could make your audience feel and understand the intent behind your data stories?

With Data Art, sometimes known as artistic data visualization, we focus on creating meaningful aesthetic pieces from complex real-world data. We only stop when we think our work conveys powerful emotions while being understandable by the audience!

In this data art initiation Masterclass, we introduce powerful yet accessible tools to be creative with data. We first start by reviewing some basics and rapidly move on to the creation and manipulation of the dataset we will use.

The second, and most important, part of the Masterclass is dedicated to the creation of our first data-drive experiment with Cables.gl, a visual programming language in the browser. While no data art or real programming experience is required, an understanding of data structures will help.

If you want to push your creative side and learn cutting-edge technology, this Masterclass is for you!
